Update on the Farm

Hello everyone! It’s been a while, but I wanted to update you on the happenings on the farm.

Our first 2 babies of 2020 were born on February 3rd to Effie. Those who have followed me for a while know that Effie is our special goat. For those who are new, Effie was born in 2016 and her mom wouldn’t nurse her. My mom raised her on a bottle. So, she is our baby. Anyway, she birthed a doe and a buck. This is her 3rd set of kids, all of which have been a doe and a buck. The birth went well and the kids are great. We actually bought a baby monitor so we can see them from our house. We’ll use it to keep watch on our expectant does as their time to birth gets closer.

It is raining a lot here. We tramp through mud to do our chores. We have started our seeds for our garden, but it looks like we’re in for a lot of rain this year. I hope we can have a good garden, but we need a break in the rain.

Our next doe is due to give birth next week, February 13th. I’ll try to keep you posted. Have a healthy and blessed week!

Christmas Greeting

I wanted to jump on here briefly to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. I used to say that Jesus is the Reason for the season, and He is. However, He came because of us. So when you get down to it, we are the reason. He came to seek and to save that which was lost, you and me. While most have commercialized this time, let’s remember why we celebrate. It isn’t really about the gifts, decorations, food, etc. It’s all about a Saviour coming to rescue mankind from our sin.

Thank all of you who follow and read my blog. As I type this on December 23rd, I’m celebrating 4 years on Word Press. I hope you will continue to follow in the New Year.

God bless you all!
