This blog post is an article I wrote for our church newsletter. I thought I would share it with you.
Recently I came across some information that immediately drew my attention. It said, “Vitamins can make you go blind.” As I looked further I understood completely. Let me share some of the information with you.
There are 3 huge mistakes in taking vitamins. Mistake #1 is taking vitamins manufactured in China. They are contaminated with Lead, Arsenic, and Mercury. Sadly, 80% of the Vitamin C consumed in the USA is manufactured in China . Taking Chinese made vitamins is worse than not taking any vitamins at all.
Mistake #2 is taking synthetic vitamins (vitamins made from chemicals). It may be okay to put synthetic motor oil in your vehicle, but your body isn’t a Chevy or Ford. You wouldn’t put gasoline in your body, but that’s what you’re doing when you’re taking synthetic vitamins. You need to take natural vitamins!
Mistake #3 is taking the wrong dose. Too much Vitamin A can actually cause liver damage. It can also cause you to lose your vision. Fish oils go rancid at room temperature and are contaminated with Mercury. I recommend plant based Omega oils.
So, how do we avoid these pit falls? Purchase organic, non-GMO, food/herb based vitamins. Let me just be blunt; local supermarkets and stores, including drug stores, do not sell good quality vitamins. They are synthetic and probably manufactured in China. You should even be careful purchasing vitamins online. Do your homework. Price is one of the first indicators of quality. The old saying, “You get what you pay for,” is true.
If you take vitamins and you don’t purchase them from me, please do your research before purchasing. You could be doing more harm than good. Since our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, we should be careful what we ingest. This is no less true regarding vitamins.
A lady in our church told me about a high energy multivitamin that she heard about. I looked it up and found it to be a very good quality vitamin. It is really helping her. She made a good choice. She encouraged me to promote it. You can purchase a two month supply for $15 plus shipping and handling through me.
I know several ladies are taking Theanine. Theanine is an amino acid that is not produced by the body, meaning it is not an essential amino acid. It is found in black tea, green tea, and certain mushrooms. It is natural and will not harm the body. I was first introduced to Theanine when trying to help a young man with ADHD. More recently, I have learned more about its benefits in dealing with anxiety, irregular heartbeat, relaxation, etc. Theanine is a natural beta blocker. However, not all Theanine is created equal. One lady bought it at a big box store and was taking 2 and it did nothing for her. Quality matters!
