🇺🇸Happy Independence Day🇺🇸

🇺🇸I wanted to say happy Independence Day to all of you! I am sure all of us will be celebrating our Nation’s 240th birthday in different ways, but I hope everyone will take a moment to thank God for blessing us to live in a free country. May we never take our freedom for granted.
It seems we are slowly losing our freedom under the auspices of freedom. That may sound like an oxymoron, but it is true. One group is silenced to prevent the other group from being offended. There isn’t freedom of speech accross the board anymore. One group is allowed to have guns to protect them while that same group tries to disarm others. Our freedom to bear arms is in danger of extinction. It’s ok for certain groups to pray to their God in public places, but the God of the Bible has been removed from every aspect of public life. Our freedom of religion is no longer all inclusive. By the way, our forefathers came and established this Nation for the sole purpose of freedom of religion.
As I stood in the choir at our church and saluted as the National Anthem was sung and Old Glory was proudly carried down the aisle, I couldn’t help but wonder how many more times we will be able to celebrate freely. As we reflect on the heroes of the past such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, not to mention the heroes whose names are unknown, our hearts swell with American pride. Where are the heroes of that caliber today? Where are the, “Men full of compassion who laugh and love and cry, men who’ll face eternity and aren’t afraid to die. Men who’ll fight for freedom and honor once again, We just need a few good men.” And I’ll make an addendum to that by saying we need good women who know their role and fulfill it.
If we want to “make America great again,” it is going to take more than Donald Trump. We the people are going to have to return to the values of our forefathers and return God to His proper place. This isn’t antiquated, it’s just plain right. God said in II Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Life was simpler and happier when things weren’t complicated by pleasing this group or that group. It was more peaceful when we didn’t have to worry about locking our doors and windows at night; when neighbors helped one another and children were safe in their own yards. That was true freedom.
So, as we reflect on the past and the great price paid for our freedom, we can also thank God for the freedoms we still have. This is still the greatest Nation on Earth. It’s still the “land of the free and the home of the brave.” If you haven’t already, you owe it to yourself to visit YouTube and listen to Star Swayne sing the National Anthem. May God bless you, and may God bless America!🇺🇸
