Gardening, Smoothies and Other Ramblings

I hope you have had a great week so far. We are having beautiful Spring weather here in Mississippi. It is unusually cool and windy. We love that since we usually skip Spring and go directly to summer. 🙂 I love the Western States, so I keep an eye on their weather. I have a friend who lives in Wyoming (one of my very favorite States), so I check the weather there a lot. They are always cooler than us. However, yesterday, we had the same temperatures. That is pretty weird.
Our family garden is starting to come alive and grow. We had fresh organic English peas from it last week. Everything is looking good.
My little garden is still waiting. My tomato plants are looking good, but that’s still all I have in the ground. Since we replanted my seeds in organic soil, they are growing. My cucumbers, kale, broccoli, and carrots look great. None of my peppers are coming up yet, but my mom dug around in them and said they are coming. I hope it won’t be long before we can get them in the ground.
I would like to share a couple of smoothie recipes with you. The first one is a liver cleanse smoothie. You drink this smoothie for 5 days for a gentle liver cleanse. Here is the recipe:
Day 1

Juice of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 lime

1 TSP of Olive Oil

1 chunk Ginger

1 Garlic clove

1 cup water

Ice cubes
Blend these together as a smoothie. If possible, use all organic contents.
Day 2

Do the same, but use 2 garlic cloves, 2 chunks of ginger and 2 TSP of olive oil.
Day 3

Same, but 3 garlic cloves, 3 chunks of ginger and 3 TSP of olive oil.
Day 4

Same, but 4 garlic cloves, 4 chunks of ginger and 4 TSP of olive oil.
Day 5

Same, but 5 garlic cloves, 5 chunks of ginger and 5 TSP of olive oil.
The second smoothie I want to share is a bit more tasty. 🙂 I use this smoothie as my dessert. Here is the recipe:
1/2 cup almond milk (unsweetened)

1 TSP dark chocolate coco powder

1 TSP organic peanut butter

4-5 pitted dates

1 egg

1/2 avocado

Ice
Blend until smooth. This should taste like a shake. It is very rich.
If you have any questions regarding either of these smoothies, please feel free to contact me either in the comments or via email.
